Xbox Game Pass Becomes Even Cooler
Today, Xbox’s Head of Gaming, Phil Spencer, announced a change to the Xbox Game Pass service. And, boy, what a welcome change it is!
Moving forward, every Xbox exclusive game will be available on Game Pass the same day they launch, starting with Sea of Thieves, followed up by State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3 later this year. After those, Spencer says we can look forward to new games from the Halo and Forza franchises to be joining the pack, as well as any of their unannounced exclusives.
I have been using Game Pass ever since it was first made available last June and I have always felt it was a great deal, this adds a whole lot more value to the program.
However, no word was given to whether or not these games will stay on Game Pass for as long as they are around. I would assume so since they will all be games published by Microsoft. Another question I have is when the back catalog of Microsoft’s most recent games will be added. Games like Cuphead and Forza Motorsport 7 would be great additions to the program.
Also announced was a new way to get Game Pass. Soon retailers will be selling 6-month subscription cards for $59.99. Though it’s still $120 for a year, it’s always nice to have different options for people.
